Somewhere between people's possible edgy psyches and our possible mysticism lies the archetype and subtext of Sergio B Zenteno's The Nth Helix, Essays on Aliveness, his newly-completed crossmedia and video short.
Part biography and part Dada-revisionist manifesto, Helix is replete with flashes of keen reflection, elevated sensuality, social commentary and oblique verite comedy.
The Nth Helix is also a history of relationships, albeit the aspect of relationship which yields fruits in creativity and inventive resolve. In this piece, Zenteno affirms his inquiry and explorations with a clearer and more succinct intention and results, with a poetic flair and poignancy colored with the urgency and possibilities of our time and environment. And it is in his immediate environment, physical and personal, where Zenteno finds the ignition of his tableaux.
